Wenzday, real name Taylor Chung, has returned with another energetic single, “I Like That.” This project features Tyler Graves, a singer-songwriter who is stepping into the EDM scene as a promising producer. The two brought the track to life, with a notable percussion rhythm and a contagious synergy.
The song starts with clapping, which makes listeners want to follow along. When the lyrics begin, Wenzday keeps it straightforward. There aren’t even any effects or distortion— only a bit of an echo.
Shake your a** on the beat like that,
You a freak like that– “I Like That”
Things soon get interesting, adding an exciting, pumping rhythm. Slowly but surely, the song climbs towards a beat drop. There is a moment of pause, and then it happens. It doesn’t hit hard, nor is it anything fancy, but listeners will still find themselves anticipating it.
Chung is a Bay Area native who has made a name for herself in the electronic music scene. After moving to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time music career, she graduated from the prestigious recording academy ICON COLLECTIVE. Wenzday’s unique fusion of house and bass music has led to successful releases on Confessions, Dim Mak, and Insomniac Records. She hosts a popular weekly show on Dash Radio, co-founded the renowned bass label 40oz Cult, and has performed at major festivals like Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, Lost Lands, Nocturnal Wonderland, and Beyond Wonderland.
Wenzday has been making her way around clubs throughout California, most recently performing at Exchange LA for the Heartbreakers Club. She shared a collection of tracks, including “Like That.” So, not only was the artist excited for its release, but she was equally looking forward to playing it on stage.
