Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin announced its North American Tour, exciting fans with plans to perform Demons alongside other of their many well-known songs.
It’s already been a year since the group’s last tour, during which they celebrated the 45th anniversary of Suspiria, another horror film released in 1977. The band has essentially created a tradition, celebrating Simonetti and cinema, but more importantly, the soundtrack. Any cinephile would emphasize the significance of music (or more generally, sound). It often plays a key role in setting the ambiance, situating the audience in the movie. For this tour, fans can look forward to a live performance of the score to Demons, a 1985 horror film, another film in which Simonetti has participated. Be ready for another level of immersive.
Claudio Simonetti is a celebrated composer, known for his work on many soundtracks for films like Dawn of the Dead, Deep Red and Tenebrae. His style and musicality are influential, still shaping the genre today. His scores have a hypnotic effect, sucking the audience into the screen as the plot and characters of the film become very real.
While Simonetti plays the keyboard, his band consists of three additional (and equally important) members. On the guitar is Daniele Amador, while the bass is covered by Cecilia Nappo. And in charge of the tempo is drummer Federico Maragoni.
Buying tickets will give fans the unique opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the film, surely topping IMAX and 3-D. In addition to standard admission, there’s the option to attend VIP sound check parties and meet and greets— again, a complete experience.
Claudio Simonetti will always be synonymous with horror, but his discography is still quite diverse. Check out the rest of his music on Spotify and follow the band on Instagram. And lastly, take a chance and check the dates to Demons. The hot summer is the best time to watch horror anyways.
