Celebrate PRIDE with Our Playlist for You

PRIDE is here and we have a special playlist update for you! Let’s break down a few artists we want to highlight this year in particular.

Let’s celebrate our playlist right by introducing you to the sounds of the Femininomenon herself, Chappell Roan. (“Thank you, Chappell Roan,” we all say in unison.) The recent rise of The Midwest Princess has been all over our For You Page (while it’s still around), invading our brains with her pop-perfection Sapphic tunes. Her unadulterated sensuality performed through her songs are wonderfully complemented by the untamed performances she has been releasing with her recent string of festival lineups. Dive into Roan’s world, and see what more she has to offer.

With her subversive musical stylings that thread the line between Americana, gothic, and good old-fashioned indie rock, Ethel Cain is the next voice in music that’s perfect for this playlist. Off the rise of the 2022 album Preacher’s Daughter, serving as an almost-biographical recount of her Florida Southern Baptist upbringing, Cain brings a fresh perspective to the music landscape with her natural talent for record producing and songwriting.

COBRAH is a force to be reckoned within the deconstructed club and hip-hop genre. With origins in Sweden, COBRAH is an international trendsetter, thanks to her ear for electronica. The ballroom dance scene is a major source of inspiration for her, tapping into the vibe for her aesthetic and overall music appreciation. COBRAH stands out amongst the latest dance scene, proudly showing why she belongs in this world.

Miki Ratsula adds a calmer vibe to our playlist, the nonbinary Finnish-American artist making waves for the genre of indie-pop. Ratsula started making remixes of famous songs by artists such as Harry Styles and Phoebe Bridgers on Soundcloud, bringing representation for other nonbinary-identifying persons with their use of gender neutrality in reference. Following their cover series, they released an LP that continues their trend of ushering in representation for the LGBTQ+ family, dedicating the love songs from the LP to their girlfriend.

With our closer, there is no one more fitting for this playlist than the notable presence of Kaytranada. From his rework of the Janet Jackson classic to his work with Amine and Pharell to his collaborative work with Childish Gambino to even laying down a track with Snoop Dogg, there is no limits to the world perfected by Kaytranada. Known for his unique interpretive voice for remixes, his production was captained for the dance vibe of the 2010s and continues to set the tone for modern electronica.

Check out our playlist in full below featuring these artists we love, and many more!
