The Scarlet Opera Debuts by Showing Us “The Place To Be”

Emerging as one of the hottest new band of 2022, The Scarlet Opera proudly presents their anxiously awaited debut single “The Place To Be” today via SB Projects/Republic Records. The track brings forward lust, freedom, and ecstasy.

Formed as ‘Perta’ in 2016 and reborn in 2022, The Scarlet Opera is led by lyricist and frontman Luka Bazulka, whose authentic narrative and vocal prowess are matched only by the musical talents of band members Colin Kenrick [keyboard], Daniel Zuker [bass], Justin Siegal [drums], and Chance Taylor [guitar]. On the creation of “A Place To Be,” Bazulka has said as such:

So a couple of months back, my friend and I were going to our favorite bar in East LA. There was a guy in the back all the way near the jukebox, and he had just cued up Chaka Khan ‘Ain’t Nobody’ and yelled out ‘I need backup dancers!’ We dropped everything we had and went up behind him and did some impromptu choreography, and it was one of the best nights of my life. I keep having those nights, so I wrote this song.”

Those looking for an upbeat, jazzy and honestly relatable pop rock anthem to fall in love with for the beginning of this season can look no further than here. “A Place To Be” provides all of this and more, showing off its fun attitude with creatively endearing lyrics, a melody irresistible not to love, and pleasant musical surprises placed all throughout the song’s run time. It’s all about living life in the moment, dirty or otherwise, and this sentiment is perfectly expressed in a line featured in the chorus, “hell, it isn’t graceful but its now or never.” The catchiness and pure enjoyment to be found in “A Place To Be” is truthfully hard to be described in words, yes, that’s how great it is, so a listen or three is encouraged to really get why this single in particular was so highly anticipated when The Scarlet Opera first announced their band’s rebirth.

The Scarlet Opera can be followed for more to come on Instagram and TikTok.
