“Cool Kids of V3nic3” is literally the perfect indie pop song, complete with goofy spelling with numbers replacing certain letters. The melodies are unique and catchy with just a little bit of angst, a lovely bubblegum pop vocals sound with a grainy sound to the drums and guitar. There are even some spaceship sound samples and trappy electronic beats sprinkled in for the extra edge. This is definitely one of those songs you blast in your headphones as you walk along the beach or “dance it out to” in your bedroom during golden hour. It’s a new staple for me personally, and not just because the songwriter and I share a name, though that makes it just slightly cooler for me.
Cass Miller is a Pittsburgh transplant in Los Angeles and shares the first single off her debut project All I Wanted, co-written with Grammy award-winning producer and writer Jordan Warè. Her dream-like vocals and hazy pop production are just what the doctor ordered! I’ve added “Cool Kids of V3nic3” to my Nü Qü. If you enjoy this tune, make sure to check out the rest of Miller’s EP All I Wanted!
