SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA RELEASE LONG-AWAITED DEBUT ALBUM ‘PARADISE AGAIN’
Don’t you worry child, the wait is finally over! After 8 long years, your favorite Swedish trio has returned to save us from the post-pandemic slump with their new album Paradise Again.
To ring in their new era right, Swedish House Mafia headlined at Coachella together with none other than the Weeknd to perform a hot new collab from Paradise Again, “Moth To A Flame”. And just like a moth to a flame, we are instantly drawn into a trance by the smooth hypnotic melody. The pulsating beats create a tantalizing contrast to the melancholic lyrics about lost love. The Weeknd’s characteristic sensual voice elevates the song to a bittersweet love song that has you vibing along.
“Moth To a Flame,” is nominated for iHeartRadio’s Dance Artist of the Year for 2021 and debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, becoming their first chart-topping release in a decade.
This song perfectly sets the mood for the rest of the album and gives you an idea of the classic chill-out, Swedish House Mafia sound to expect. The album is just bursting with cameos from the biggest stars in the business right now and some unexpected surprises. The collaborators and guests include The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, Sting, Ty Dolla $ign, 070 Shake, Seinabo Sey, Mapei, English singer-songwriter Connie Constance and Swedish classical music composer Jacob Mühlrad. Paradise Again is serving a buffet of genres from classic to rap and EDM, it is sure to cater to everyone’s pallet.
Piano and EDM? Heck yeah! Swedish House Mafia is breaking with music styles and mixing up the classical tunes with a smooth synth transition. “Jacob’s Note” is a one-minute-long piece that features an orchestral interpretation of Swedish House Mafia’s “One (Your Name)” created by Sweden-grown prodigy Jacob Mühlrad. The song, although short reminds us of the versatility and interpretability that music holds. A charming piece that pays homage to the first official single the group produces as SHM and offers a calming break among the hard bass and sick beat drops throughout the album.
What exactly caused the trio of Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell, to come back together and create new music you ask? In 2019 the global supergroup Swedish House Mafia, rediscover their musical synergy during their reunion tour. Spending countless hours in the studio over the course of the subsequent years, exorcizing new sonic palettes, textures, and tones from an arsenal of analog synths has led to the birth of their newest masterpiece: Paradise Again.
There’s always new ground to break. However, the biggest challenge was to do what nobody expected us to. We needed to find sounds in the studio we had never heard before and were excited about. It’s super inspiring for me to be in a band where we actually want to challenge ourselves. This is definitely one of the most exciting times for us, because we’re having fun like 15-year-olds again.

“Paradise Again”, the lead single is a pure electric dance music eargasm. A slow, gradually intensifying melody filled with oriental elements that build into an eruptive climax that never happens. A tune that is edging you and teasing with the promise of an epic beat drop that you can feel coming but remains nothing more than a vague premonition.
We have some more great news for you! On top of the release of Paradise Again, Swedish House Mafia will be going on their first proper international tour since 2012, including arenas across the United States and Europe. The PARADISE AGAIN TOUR kicks off this July and will include supporting acts on select dates from Alesso, ZHU, Grimes, Vintage Culture, Kaytranada, and many more.
