Winona Oak releases vulnerable new single and music video, “Baby Blue!”
On March 31, Swedish songwriter and singer Winona Oak will release the second single off her upcoming debut album, titled “Baby Blue.” This single is also accompanied by a colorfully sultry music video release on YouTube.

“Baby Blue” follows the new album’s title track, “Island of the Sun,” which was released last month. This new single, in contrast to the first release, is raw, vulnerable, and explores the darker side of love. Winona commented that this song is about “wanting to try to save someone you’ve fallen for, and then realizing that there’s no way to fix them without destroying yourself.” Winona will celebrate the release of Island of the Sun with her widest-ranging North American tour to date, supporting British alternative pop duo, Oh Wonder through May.
Winona Oak is praised by her strong musicality in electro-pop and feminist lyricism, marrying both to create stunning EPs such as SHE. Met with widespread critical and popular acclaim upon its 2020 release, SHE was highlighted by captivating singles, such as the title track “SHE” and “Winter Rain.” According to PAPER, “Winona Oak is a name you should know. Her synth-backed vocals descend from whispery, dainty highs to striking and sultry lows.”
In addition, a number of stunning new versions of “SHE” followed the original release, including the intimate “SHE (Stripped)” as well as remixes by Belgian artist/producer Taska Black and Los Angeles trio MUNA. This year’s new music follows Winona Oak’s 2021 collaboration with breakout bedroom pop star ELIO, “Nobody Loves Me,” released in celebration of International Women’s Day and joined by a vibrant official music video release as well. Last year also saw Winona share the graceful and intimate “Old Insecurities,” accompanied by an official music video.
