This Friday, June 2nd, rising star, Slush Puppy drops their first track since their breakout single, “Juliette.” The rising 20-year-old alternative pop newcomer has so far amassed over a million streams on the track, and earned a spot on highly coveted playlists.
“Barbie Doll” was co-produced by Evan Gartner and Pink Slip. The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter’s new single changes the game with its crunchy beat and synthy vocals while it conquers the heavy concept of changing oneself for the sake of another person to the extent of forgetting who you once were.
On the inspiration behind his new single, Slush Puppy shares his thoughts:
‘Barbie Doll’ is about wanting to be with someone so bad that you are willing to change your entire self and character to keep their attention. I wanted to creatively express what it feels like to overcompensate for being insecure.
