Presented In partnership with Coachella promoters, Goldenvoice, the festival will feature live performances from Porter Robinson, Madeon, Jai Wolf, Toro Y Moi, Jon Hopkins, Jacob Collier, Wavedash, KNOWER and Jyocho. Second Sky marks Porter’s first ever live playing music from his widely acclaimed new album Nurture, released earlier this year.
The completely sold out festival (45k tickets sold instantly at onsale) will bring an unparalleled and completely immersive world inspired by Nurture to the festival grounds. Confidential for now — the environment is built in partnership with Nassal (art directors and set builders for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Universal Studios) and will bring attendees deep into the festival experience with installations throughout the site.
Second Sky launched in 2019 in Berkeley to similar success—30k tickets sold in minutes. A 2020 installment was planned, but when the pandemic hit Porter and team quickly pivoted to a livestream version — Secret Sky. The 2020 livestream festival saw DJ sets from artists all over the world, drew 4 million+ viewers, etc. In 2021, Porter partnered with design firm Active Theory to build a groundbreaking virtual environment for Secret Sky—allowing online attendees to interact in 3D VR space.
Second Sky will require all attendees to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test, taken within 72 hours of the event. Additionally, it is strongly recommended that all attendees regardless of vaccination status wear masks while not actively eating or drinking.
