NETFLIX’S “RUSSIAN DOLL” RELEASED FULL SOUNDTRACK TO CELEBRATE SEASON 2
The painful wait is finally over! Nadia, the fiery redhead, and your fav mind-twisting dramedy is back and ready to binge. The second season of Russian Doll just premiered on Netflix last week and we can’t get enough. To celebrate the next chapter, Gardener has released the complete soundtrack “Russian Doll: Seasons 1 & 2 (Music From The Netflix Original Series)”.
The album is composed by renowned musician Joe Wong and features his dream-like original score with highlights from the breakout first season and the highly anticipated second season. Track after track, the music takes you on a thrilling journey through life, death, space, and time.
For everyone who’s new to the following, let me give you a little recap of what the show is about. The first season of Russian Doll follows a dashingly attractive Nadia in the seemingly impossible journey to escape a time loop that has her trapped as a guest of honor at a glamorous party one night in New York City. Due to mysterious circumstances, she dies repeatedly, always restarting at the same moment at the party, as she tries to figure out what is happening to her. If you enjoy mind games, you’ll love this one for sure.
“In many ways, we think of ‘Russian Doll’ as a musical, with the score serving to bridge and guide us through the rollercoaster of Nadia’s puzzle box adventure. With the new season, we knew we wanted to use the investigative beats of the season one cues as a jumping off point to an ever more dense and psychedelic landing. The soundscape also allows us time to sit with some of the higher concept moments in the hopes of making them feel personal to the viewer’s life experience.”
Natasha Lyonne, the show’s co-creator
Here’s a sneak of season 2, promise no spoilers!
The second chapter takes place four years later after the party in NYC and Nadia and Alan discover an unexpected time portal that sends them both on an era-spanning adventure through the past. New loop different setting. Will they be able to make it out this time?
Who’s up for a Netflix marathon to find out? I’ll bring the tunes, you bring popcorn.
