“Kindred” by Ice Plant is one of the most wholesome conscious hip-hop songs I’ve heard this year. Not only is the song a chill, feel-good low-fi vibe, but the lyrics are uplifting and inspiring. Talks of doing yoga in the evening, psychedelic sessions at the riverbed, chasing goals and leveling up together. Gorgeous autumn views of what seem to be a hometown hang spot for Ice Plant’s crew makes up the scenic music video, along with clips of him and his friends sending Chinese lanterns into the night sky. Both the song and the music video feel like a dream, one from which you awake refreshed.
