GLASSWAVES DROPS THEIR FIRST SINGLE “DEAD DREAMS”

Hailing from New York five piece rock/metal core band Glasswaves released their very first single “Dead Dreams.” The band drew their inspiration for the lyrics from the very popular show Stranger Things specifically the visuals in season four. “Dead Dreams” is about how everything pales compared to your ultimate and ideal life. Exploring yourself, learning who you are and what you need to do to achieve your goals. The song inspires you to work through your fears that you’ll never be good enough to achieve your highest goals because of problems revolving around mental health, setbacks, and the difficulty of navigating an industry set up to minimize its artists.

“Dead Dreams is our first single and to have people truly enjoying it means the world to us. The song itself is about overcoming mental obstacles to achieve your dreams and the reception of this song so far has legitimately felt like a dream.”

An interesting fact about the song is that the snare drum is mixed in with a recording of Alec’s living room lamp being “tinged” into a microphone. There is also an easter egg joke about the band’s anxiety dealing with the content of the lyrics. A large anxious gulping noises let out and they turned that sound into the 808 bass drops in the song.

“Dead Dreams” has a fantastic captivating intro that instantly lures you in and immediately goes into a softer more dark form with the vocals. It has high energy while addressing relatable topics that many struggle with on a day to day basis. The single has ick guitar riffs, drums that really carry the intensity and strong moody vocals and the perfect mix of screamo. Glasswaves really crushed it with “Dead Dreams” being their first single. Can’t wait to hear more from the band!
