On June 21, Fall Out Boy kicked off the So Much For (Tour) Dust world tour in their hometown of Chicago. The rock band started their tour off strong with a sold-out show at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. Fall Out Boy will be touring arenas across North America throughout the summer and will be headlining in Europe and the UK this fall.

Fall Out Boy returned to Chicago earlier this year for a sold-out show in January at Metro. The band first played at Metro in September of 2002, before the release of their 2003 debut album Take This To Your Grave. They’ve since been nominated for two GRAMMY Awards, including Best New Artist in 2006 and Best Rock Album in 2018 for Mania.

The tour follows the release of their most recent album So Much (For) Stardust which debuted at #6 on the US Billboard 200, making it the band’s 7th top 10 album. The two lead singles, “Love From The Other Side” and “Heartbreak Feels So Good,” were met with heaps of critical praise.

All of the songs off the new record fit effortlessly into Fall Out Boy’s discography, with some songs even sounding like they belong on earlier records. “Love From The Other Side” sounds like a classic Fall Out Boy song, reminiscent of the band’s early days when they were more focused on heavier and darker rock. The song could easily fit in with songs from 2005’s From Under The Cork Tree alongside “Dance, Dance” and “Of All The Gin Joints In All The World.” The second and third singles, “Heartbreak Feels So Good” and “Hold Me Like A Grudge,” still match the band’s iconic sound while bringing the music into the modern era.

The set list at Wrigley Field consisted of some of Fall Out Boy’s greatest hits, including “Sugar We’re Goin’ Down” and “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up),” as well as some deeper cuts for the long-time fans. The band performed “G.I.N.A.S.F.S.” live for the first time, despite the fact that the song had been released back in 2007 on their record Infinity On High. The band will be continuing to perform surprise songs throughout the tour, calling them “Magic 8 Ball” tracks. Many fan-favorite songs have been played so far and we can’t wait to see what surprise is next!

The band has a large collection of supporting acts, joined by Bring Me The Horizon on almost all tour stops. They will also be supported at select shows by Alkaline Trio, The Academy Is…, Carr, Daisy Grenade, Four Years Strong, Games We Play, New Found Glory, and Royal & the Serpent.

Fall Out Boy will be continuing their world tour through November with sold-out shows across the world. The band has three more stadium stops on the way including at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, Forest Hills Stadium in New York, and Fenway Park in Boston. Make sure to get your tickets to see Fall Out Boy before they are sold out!
