Pacific Northwest cinematic rock band, Everyone Loves A Villain, opens up their hearts to an aggressively intimate new single, “Forsaken.” Born from the conflict and unafraid to express their identities as individuals, each member of the band offers a unique sense of magic in their creations together.
Everyone Loves A Villain is built upon the pillars of their raw talent, vision, and dedication to their craft; members George Silva (guitar), Dylan Harris (guitar), Chris McCoy (vocals), Joel Hiatt (bass), and Steve Ellis (drums) all come from projects of their own; united, their unique sound shatters expectations from the blueprint of heavy rock music. The group began organically out of an 18-year friendship shared by Silva, Harris, Ellis, and McCoy around the idea of a hard-hitting yet melodic new project featuring a diverse pool of talent.
The band’s powerful messages have struck the hearts of many in the genre, as they mix power, precision, and politics in original ways that demand the listener’s attention. Out from their signature comes an unbreakable bond of hard rock with a focus of powerful messages that strikes the audience with feeling and offer a source of catharsis from pain and conflict as they juggle the heaviness of it all.
“Forsaken,” released this Friday, February 4th, tackles the topic of leaving a cult, and facing all the trauma that the decision and the repercussions leave behind. Based on personal experiences from members of the band, the track processes through the grief and the traumas in facing the sense of conflict in leaving a toxic environment from which they came in. “I left [the cult] and never looked back,” they said about the meaning behind the track.
