EVAN GIIA Discusses Future Brand Plans and Her Love for Brooklyn and Food at Forecastle Festival
The feminine energy and power that is EVAN GIIA was in full force during her return to Forecastle Festival, following an extra special EDC Las Vegas the weekend prior. Before her performance, she sat down with us to talk about what she was excited about, both for her performance and beyond. Recalling a previous Forecastle performance, EVAN GIIA mentioned that she was “pretty much unknown back then,” but still had a packed crowd. With freshly debuted visuals accompanying her spirited energy, she certainly had an even more packed crowd this go around, a tribute to her dedication to her craft and love for her GIIA GANG.
The Brooklyn-based musician and vocalist is a lifelong singer and professionally trained opera singer. An alumna of Berklee College of Music, she actually did not sing during her time there, which lead to a chain reaction that ultimately lead to her finding her love for songwriting and performing. Her music is produced by her husband of almost a year, who is part of the electronic duo known as MEMBA, and she is certain to always share her public support for MEMBA, both mentioning the name during the interview as well as her performance. We talk further about how her Italian culture and his Indian culture were blended during the wedding, then also how they continue to support each other towards their individual dreams. She shares with us what her hopes for the future of her brand are, particularly as she looks to continue combing her love for fitness with her love for music.
