Conor Bvrns Impresses With New Alternative Rock Single “Money”
April 8th marked Conor Bvrns’ official release of his first EP, “Atherton”. The 22 year old producer, songwriter, and singer showcased his impressive range with the five tracks featured on the album. The songs -while all having distinctly different production styles- work in harmony with one another to create an overarching story throughout the EP. In just 16 minutes, “Atherton” examines the morality of wealth and how it affects those who possess it.

“Money” is arguably the most distinct song featured on Bvrns extended play. Written, produced, and performed by Bvrns, “Money” is an intertwining of rock and alternative pop. Anchored by its steady drums and bass, “Money” is brooding and hot-tempered -making it the perfect track for Bvrns unique vocals to shine through. However, what truly makes the track so undeniably good is its ability to keep you on your toes. Around 50 seconds in Bvrns softens his vocal delivery, allowing for his listeners to truly grasp the raw emotion of the song.
While his musicality is excellent, Bvrns doesn’t limit himself to creating songs; he also shines in the director’s chair. The music video for “Money” is one of the two videos directed by Bvrns for his EP. The three minute video features Bvrns as he wanders through a mansion, passing by and interacting with different variations of himself. Despite the bright colors and eye-catching outfits, the clones of Bvrns seem to be a commentary on the isolation of wealth and how you only truly have yourself.
“Atherton” in its entirety is a refreshing take on fame, money, and the toll that they take on their possessor. Since releasing “Atherton”, Bvrns has also released his newest single “Behind My Smile”. You can keep up with Bvrns and his upcoming projects on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
