DILLON FRANCIS AND ILLENIUM UNVEIL “DON’T LET ME LET GO” FEATURING EVAN GIIA
Fun, chill, summery and overall exciting. These words best capture the essence of the late summer bop “DON’T LET ME LET GO”. The light electro tune is a major co-production by three of the top artists in this genre. Superstar producers, songwriters and DJs Dillon Francis and the most successful crossover electronic artists ILLENIUM unveil their first-ever collaboration today featuring rising star EVAN GIIA. The track gives us a taste of their upcoming album THIS MIXTAPE IS FIRE TOO (How funny is this title tho? It’s giving serious throwback vibes). It will be a sequel to the 2015’s This Mixtape Is Fire which featured collaborations with Calvin Harris, Skrillex Kygo, Chromeo and more.
“Did it take me more than two years to finish this song with Illenium and EVAN GIIA? You’re damn right it did. Do I think you need to check it out so I can feel a sense of accomplishment in my life, that the two years of late nights and early mornings weren’t for nothing and that I’m worth a damn and that my mom and dad should be proud of me and that my brother needs to get off my back about buying him a new mountain bike because I supposedly broke it but it was already broken even though I don’t have proof? Yes. Please. Thank you.”

The music video takes you on a trip to all the stereotypical summer day activities, from a poolside party to hanging out at a local pizza parlor to a car-wash trip. Let’s be honest, nothing beats the experience of a fancy drive-thru car wash: All the colors and the bubbles. Love! The song itself feels quite familiar when you hear it. The strong basses combined with the synth form a melody that sounds like the remix of all the past electro, festival summer hits. Mainstream yet not boring nor unpleasurable. “DON’T LET ME LET GO” is the song you can put on while chilling at the pool or on a long road trip and is guaranteed to hit the spot.
Dillon Francis has been making dance music and beyond for more than a decade, bursting onto the scene in the early 2010s with a series of underground hits. His partner on the track ILLENIUM ( aka Nick Miller) elevates dance music via his bold, progressive take on the genre, which has led to him dominating the U.S. charts in the past years.
