It’s been almost one year since the United States Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade. Demi Lovato is using their newest single, “SWINE,” to support the Reproductive Justice Fund at the Demi Lovato Foundation. For a year, the net profits from “SWINE” will be split between the nonprofit organizations NARAL Pro-Choice America, Plan C and The National Network of Abortion Funds.
On their decision, Lovato shared:
“I created ‘SWINE’ to amplify the voices of those who advocate for choice and bodily autonomy. I want this song to empower not only the birthing people of this country but everyone who stands up for equality, to embrace their agency and fight for a world where every person’s right to make decisions about their own body is honored.”

Lovato has long been an outspoken activist, sharing their support for LGBTQIA+ rights and body positivity.
Recently, Lovato has been embracing pure rock, releasing rock reimaginings of their hit songs “Cool for the Summer” and “Heart Attack.”
“SWINE” is no different. With heavy guitars and growling vocals, Lovato is making sure their voice is heard. They stand up for reproductive rights with a chanting chorus, singing:
My life, my voice
My rights, my choice
It’s mine, or I’m just swine
My blood, my loins
My lungs, my noise
It’s mine, or I’m just swine

Along with “SWINE,” Lovato released a resilient music video. Lovato is standing in front of a group of men — seemingly representatives of the Supreme Court — and fighting against their oppressive ways. A group of people dressed in all black follow Lovato into the fight.
