Charlotte Sands Shares Live Performance of “Alright”
At the end of January, pop-rock artist Charlotte released her latest single, “Alright.” Now, the artist has dropped a live performance of her latest track.
The live performance is shot in what looks like an abandoned warehouse, with the opening shot featuring a shattered window. After the initial shot, the camera pans to Sands as she stands by the window before she walks to the mic stand, and the camera widens out to show the rest of the band.

“Alright” is an anthemic pop single about the challenges of learning self-acceptance and self-love after years of being bullied for being different. With a powerful vocal performance from Sands and a soaring instrumental inspiring hope, “Alright” is a message of reassurance for anyone who may feel like they are overcome by their insecurities and past.
Sands shares more about the meaning behind “Alright,”
“I want to be the big sister to those who feel like freaks. My intention with my music is to create a safe space for people to feel accepted and celebrated for their weirdness and diversity. When people feel seen and supported, the world becomes a better place.”
The song also showcases Charlotte Sands’ struggle during the pandemic, as she had to choose between being isolated alone in Nashville or moving back home. She was working on a song with her longtime producer, Danen Reed Rector when he came up with a piano melody that eventually became “Alright.” Sands describes how,
“Through writing that song, I made a choice for my future self—it was the light at the end of the tunnel—and now I am in that light.”
Charlotte Sands’ music career began right after graduating high school when she moved to Nashville post-grad. Her first single, “Phantom Pain,” came out in 2018, but her big break came in 2020. Her single, “Dress,” blew up on TikTok, catapulting her career so that she was opening for big musical acts such as YUNGBLUD and My Chemical Romance, as well as performing at festivals including Bonaroo and South by Southwest. “Alright” is the first single Sands released in 2023.
