Tennis Release Music Video for “One Night with the Valet”

Indie pop duo Tennis released a music video for their newest song, “One Night with the Valet”. The song is off of their upcoming album, Pollen. The highly anticipated album is set to be released on February 10 of next year. The band is expected to go on tour to support this release.

Hailing for Denver, Colorado Tennis is a husband-wife duo consisting of Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley. The two had met at a philosophy class while they were both attending the University of Colorado. The two would go on a sailing expedition following their graduation, a trip that would last for eight months. The formation of the band Tennis had come about when their expedition came to an end, with many of their initial songs describing their experiences at sea. Following their formation in 2010, they have released five albums, with the latest being 2020’s Swimmer.

The music video for “One Night With The Valet” is very simple. It shows Alaina Moore on a farm surrounded by various farm animals like goats. The music video mostly consists of various close ups on her face, as the song plays along.

One Night With The Valet is a stunning ethereal release from the duo. Alaina’s vocals are surreal and dreamy which match the kaleidoscopic instrumental. The song will put you at ease, and will make you seem like you are floating at points. The lyrics repeatedly mention the notion of “being tempted by the face of love” and perfectly describes our desire to be loved by someone. The song details how it feels like to be in love and our constant want and validation for it.

“To be in love is to be humbled, so I tapped into my inner fool; donning a grease paint mask and dabbling in some light miming. In the company of grazing animals, I professed my undying devotion to a certain someone, just off camera, never out of sight.”
