“MAGAZINES (FREESTYLE)” BY MELLY IS THE FEMININE RAP MIX THAT NEEDS TO BE ON YOUR 2023 PLAYLIST

Step aside Cardi B it looks like there is a new female powerhouse up and coming to stir up the rap scene and Melly is her name. She is a young and talented rapper/pop artist ready to take the scene by storm. Her newest single “MAGAZINES (FREESTYLE)” just dropped and we can’t get enough. This song is the perfect mélange of powerful rap stanzas that stand in stark contrast to the soft feminine singing intervals. A song about emancipation that perfectly captures the duality of the female. MAGAZINES is about seeing things for what they really are—clearly identifying your enemies & fighting like hell to make sure you end up on top.

Melly personally describes her genre as “Drill”: a grimy playground with an expansive terrain allowing her to set the record straight on her terms. Melly has transformed a playful and braggadocios freestyle into a relentless pursuit to grapple with the precarity of Black girl, women & femmehood — all while illustrating her prowess and sheer will for survival

“MAGAZINES (FREESTYLE)” is only her second release after her debut single “DIRTY GIRL”. We can’t wait to see what other great things this artist is capable of!
