Third Man Records Launches New Store Via Reverb
Third Man Records has announced a new store for music gear via Reverb. Reverb is a music gear reselling album. On their album, Reverb describe themselves as the “largest online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling new, used, and vintage musical instruments”. Third Man Records, as part of another collaboration with pedal manufacturer MXR created the MXR X Third Man Hardware Double Down pedal. This pedal is now available for pre-order through the Third Man Hardware Reverb store.
Third Man Records is a record label that was founded and owned by Jack White, Ben Blackwell and Ben Swank. The label operates out of Nashville, Detroit and Soho in London. Jack White managed to put forth more of his attention towards his label after the breakup of his band, the White Stripes. With his nephew Blackwell and his close friend Swank, White works together on making his record label much more than a record label. Third Man records also helps set up live venues, vinyl pressing, setting up a vinyl subscription service and a mastering studio.
Third Man Hardware’s combines two separate MXR Micro Amp circuits into a single box. Each input jack has up to +26dB of signal-boosting power each. The new pedal is basically +26dB of signal-boosting power. The inspiration for the pedal comes from Jack White’s career, back when he was performing with the White Stripes.
“I’m not big on the, ‘This is the Jack White distortion pedal—get that Jack White sound’—I don’t really want to sell that concept. I’d rather try to make something useful that other people can get their sound out of.
