Xeven’s “Eagle” Shares Personal and Inspirational Message of Self-Empowerment
Helen Preis has a unique experience and story to share; which has become more and more evident in her music as she creates. Also known by her artist name, Xeven (Хелен), she is a self-taught electronic producer, singer, and songwriter with a personal twist in her lyricism. The artist’s emotional lyrics focus on the Xeven’s music is personal, emotional, and doesn’t really fit a genre description. Most of it is dark and melancholic, with eerie ambient sounds and meaningful lyrics. Helen was born and raised in Tallinn, Estonia, at the brink of Soviet Union’s collapse. In her earlier years as a child through life as a teenager, she was subject to heavy bullying, which propelled her to express herself through her ambition in performing arts. Her influences in Depeche Mode, Imogen Heap, Marilyn Manson, Daft Punk, MGMT, BANKS, Grimes, and much more all drove her inspirations further. Her work as Xeven, in particular, uses these influences to drive her own unique style and sound. Helen is currently residing in Miami, Florida, having previously lived and worked in New York, Berlin, Cape Town, Helsinki.
Shortly after launching her latest release, Xeven’s “Eagle” is driven by its sense of self-empowerment. Its sound blends in blues, Americana, and the wild-west and cinematic soundtracks with her own unique rendition and, fused with electronic pop elements and her own unique world view to end up with a ultimately unique and fresh sound.
