Xana Explores the Ugly Sides of Love in Her Dreamy Power Ballad “Yellow”

With raw lyrics and raspy vocals, Xana shares her dreamy power ballad “Yellow,” accompanied by a gorgeously choreographed music video, full of emotive moments. Xana is a queer Canadian artist exploring a dark pop sound resembling some sort of cross-over between Halsey, Lorde and old-school P!NK. Xana comments on the song that, “Yellow is about a sweet, new love turned bitter and the inability to let go.” You can see this experience personified in the choreography of the visual, as her character clings in desperation to her indifferent partner who remains deadpan the whole while Xana‘s face contorts in emotional anguish. It’s a truly powerful visual and well done!

Xana‘s debut and sophomore singles released in late 2020, “Goddess” and “Pray,” have accumulated over 3 million streams across platforms. This new track “Yellow” only adds to her momentum as a successfully emerging artist! She creates her own worlds of fantasy and authenticity that bring listeners on adventures of explosive arrangements and heartfelt moments; encompassing themes of LGBTQ romance, female empowerment, sex positivity, self-reflection and discovery.
