Xana is a queer Canadian artist exploring a dark pop sound resembling some sort of cross-over between Halsey, Lorde and old-school P!NK. Xana comments on the song that, “Yellow is about a sweet, new love turned bitter and the inability to let go.” You can see this experience personified in the choreography of the visual, as her character clings in desperation to her indifferent partner who remains deadpan the whole while Xana‘s face contorts in emotional anguish.
