The “Synergy” in Dance Gavin Dance’s Newest Single is Incredible

Releasing their first taste of music in over two years, Sacramento sextet Dance Gavin Dance is finally back, gracing their audience with the anthem “Synergy.” Full of rich guitar textures, a mix of wild and sweet singing, and an all-around fantastic mix, here’s a brief glimpse at the awesome track.
At the core of the single, one of the key senses you get is the idea of duality. Compact inside two guitarists, Will Swan and Andrew Wells, provide a “synergy” of concepts such as switching from complex to simple along with math rock to jazz. Like oil to water, these guitarists dance together, meshing incredibly close while also maintaining their own unique personalities. Also working in pairs is the addition of clean and unclean vocal styles carried out by Tilian Pearson, Andrew Wells, and guest contributor Rob Damiani from musical act Don Broco.

Waking up
Courage in my cup
Last night was rough
Don’t remember much
Waking up
Courage in my cup
Last night was rough
Doing what I love
Synergy, Tilian Pearson
The vocalists’ contrast between gnarly and angelic tones gives punk and mainstream vibes while also following the DGD formula to a tee. The rhythm section containing Matt Mingus and Tim Feerick also deserves recognition, full of tasty fills and impressive timing. Working incredibly well together, Feerick’s funky bass plays off Mingus’ complex yet groovy drumming, providing the backbone the song deserves.
We hope you check out our new track Synergy. This song features all the components that are require for a tasty DGD treat. epic technical guitars, catchy melodies, and groovy drum parts! Be sure to also check out the music video that accompanies it and enjoy!
