WILLOW Releases Newest Single “<maybe> it’s my fault”
Audiences are waiting patiently for WILLOW’s new album release later this summer. If the latest single “<maybe> it’s my fault” is anything to go by, WILLOW’s next album is going to be explosive–in the best way possible. Along with the release of the single, WILLOW released a performance music video directed by Dana Trippe.
“<maybe> it’s my fault” builds on WILLOW’s latest musical era while simultaneously paying homage to the greats that came before her. This song in particular is a mixture of influence from the queen of goth rock herself, Amy Lee, and a sound that is uniquely WILLOW. On her latest release, WILLOW explains, “It’s all too often in tender emotional states we try to blame our hurts on other people. Even though none of us are perfect, in some capacity it’s us who allow ourselves to get into situations that don’t serve our highest purpose.” She goes on to explain further that “<maybe> it’s my fault” explores what it’s like to hold ourselves equally accountable for the emotional pain we feel while also allowing ourselves to be human and fully process all of our feelings without shame.”
WILLOW and Trippe’s video perfectly captures this feeling of being unashamed to reach catharsis. The video sees WILLOW journey through the different stages and emotions necessary for finding relief–quietly and reserved at first–up until the final moments of the video where she fully unleashes her uncensored feelings.
WILLOW is currently touring with Machine Gun Kelly on his Mainstream Sellout Tour and is set to perform at several festivals throughout the summer.
