Wide Sky’s “Somedays” Is A Friendly Voice Beyond The Noise
“Someday” is a word we often connect to that feeling of hopefulness and longing. They appear in every medium imaginable just like in film, television, and music. Take for example the classic Disney tune “Someday My Prince Will Come”, where Snow White pictures a happy ending with Prince Charming to the Seven Dwarves. Then there’s The New Radicals 1999 hit “Someday We’ll Know”, where a lover slowly accepts that they’re not meant for each other. These are just some that come to mind, so much so that this list could stretch to forever if we wanted to. Regardless of where that word appears, one thing’s for sure – great things are on the horizon.
That same energy flows through budding German band Wide Sky’s new song entitled “Somedays”. It’s a gem that paints a portrait of personal growth and embarking on a journey of searching for the path to happiness. Sure, the premise sounds all too familiar but what’s so refreshing is its approach of making it sound like a dear friend is singing it directly to you (yes you!). Straight from the heart of a pal that knows what you’ve been through, whether it be good, bad or everything in between. It’s a sign that you are loved, and you’re not walking alone on the path you’ve chosen even though you may feel like it at times.
Released last September 30th in streaming platforms everywhere via Blue Door Records. Wide Sky’s “Somedays” gives us a positive message that’s very timely and close to our hearts. As much as it is a friendly voice, it also serves as a North Star to those of us who are lost. Lifting a mirror and pointing out that the key to real healing is understanding yourself. External noises will dictate otherwise leading you on a wild goose chase, but at the end of it all you’ll soon discover that you’re the answer you’ve been waiting for all along. Once you come to grips with that reality (the quicker the better) then and only then could your someday begin.
If you’re looking for a change of pace and a track to inspire your ailing soul, then “Somedays” by Wide Sky is a must. It’s calming vocals coupled with its lovely instrumental will help clear your thoughts and allow you to see that one of the greatest relationships we can have is with ourselves.
