We Are All Stars In The Ability’s ‘Constellations’

The universe holds a lot of mysteries. Some of them meant to be hidden from the human eye and others to be found. When speaking of the later, one of the most popular in the list are stars and constellations. Heavenly jewelry or The Universe’s accessories, they shine bright in the night sky astounding us with different formations (Gemini, Pisces, Aquarius, Leo, Virgo etc.). Dumb struck by it all, we often ask ourselves how they’ve come to be and what it would feel like admiring them up close.

This same wide eyed fascination is felt in Southside Chicago Illinois band The Ability with their latest song ‘Constellations’. Released April 21st in all major streaming platforms worldwide. The Ability takes us on an interplanetary journey as we contemplate life on earth and the beauty of the cosmos. Assuming the role of a satellite, we zip through space passing by numerous constellations. With that we are asked, how come they retain their luster and we don’t?

Answers to this vary, we hold the key to that. Whether we are at fault or with the help of other characters in our lives, The Ability comes to us as a friend. A comrade who’s been wandering through the universe and wondering about our well being. They remind us with their slick vocals, rich and eargasmic instrumentals that we can do anything we set our minds to. Sure we can flicker like a broken street lamp at midnight, we should never take that as an excuse to stop striving. You might feel alone right now, but just like that popular saying “we’re not alone”. Someone will claim and takes us in sooner or later – that’s how we roll. Just like the constellations, we need to find friends or individuals to grow with or in their case shine with.

As chill as their newest tune, The Ability shows us that self reflection can be achieved in a calm way. We can choose not to rock the boat for changes to occur. Sometimes all it needs is some rearranging much like the constellations themselves.
