Jeoff Harris is a singer/songwriter and producer who goes by the name of Cathartic Fall. He lives in Los Angeles, in the shadow of the Hollywood Hills, making music from his apart. His journey as Cathartic Fall began by accident while he helped a friend compose music for a meditation video. It has since transformed into one of Jeoff’s true passions.
His music has become a vehicle for him and his listeners to get in touch with their deep emotions. To date, a mantra of his music has been “it takes courage to feel.” Part-challenge, part-invitation, these words serve as a caution for those who may not be ready to engage with their emotions fully. Aptly named, Cathartic Fall is a safe pathway to feeling deeply and experiencing the catharsis that may be long overdue.
His newest song, “Waiting in the Dark,” is a heart-warming dedication to his girlfriend who lives overseas. Due to the pandemic, they have had to spend a lot of time apart, so he created this song to help her feel less lonely. The radiant song, written by Jeoff and Katie Stump, is a sweet piano lullaby that soothes and comforts the soul. Jeoff’s luminous vocals flow over the rich sounds as vibradoing strings pair with the piano. The music swells underneath the hopeful lyrics, which are written as harmonious as the message is charming. This song is beautiful. I’m sure there are so many words that could be used to describe this song, but that is the best descriptor in my opinion because it really is just such a beautiful dedication. A beautiful lullaby into the night.
