VSN’s “She Bad” is Your Next Summer Anthem
Alternative hip-hop artist VSN recently released his single, “She Bad”, on February 11th in collaboration with artist J.V. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Drake, Bryson Tiller, and The Weeknd, VSN delivers with a smooth and sexy track perfect for summer 2022. Describing his track as “a summer time R&B vibe with a bit of rap”, VSN’s “She Bad” speaks on falling into a toxic relationship and the pains that come along with it. With an easy beat and Spanish-influenced guitar samples, “She Bad” is alluring and intoxicating.
While the Ottawa based singer has been working in music production for over five years now, his journey as a recording artist had only started about a year ago. Since then, he has worked alongside the infamous Toronto R&B duo S4G4 and Guapdad 4000, helping to create the 2021 song “Rollin”. Before becoming a recording artist, VSN primarily focused on assisting in the formation of other artists’ careers. “I would say my greatest milestones include creating the hit single “Rollin’”…I would add the fact that I have assisted several Ottawa artists to begin their career in music and solidify their place in the local music scene..”, said VSN in a 2022 interview with Billboard HipHop.
It’s hard not to relate to the story behind VSN’s single; it can be hard to shake off an old flame when they’re so perfectly wrong for you -especially when you don’t want to. Written by Joao Nobreg and Michael Ashong, the single perfectly captures the highs and lows of falling into a destructive, unsustainable relationship. VSN sings about falling in love with a beautiful, poisonous woman who he can’t leave alone. She’s materialistic, and knows exactly how to get what she wants -but he can’t help his feelings for her. VSN’s “She Bad” is about wearing rose colored glasses, and how they can make all the red flags you may see in your partner turn pink.
