EDM legend Tiësto is slated to perform at the NFL’s Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11 in Paradise, Nevada. The DJ-producer from the Netherlands will kick off his first set at Allegiant Stadium before the game begins, and he will continue as the Super Bowl’s first-ever “in-game DJ” for the length of the event, performing during featured pauses in the game.

Only those watching the game in person will see the whole performance, but parts of it will be livestreamed on Tiësto’s personal socials as well as on the CBS Super Bowl television broadcast. The artist expressed his excitement about the upcoming gig, which will be near Las Vegas, his “favorite place.”

“I’m excited to be a part of the Super Bowl LVIII! Thank you to the NFL for having me. I cannot wait to party with you all at the big game!” Tiësto said in a recent statement.

With a career spanning three decades, Tiësto has truly made a name for himself in the EDM world and beyond. In the past, Rolling Stone has proclaimed him as the “No. 1 DJ,” and Billboard has deemed him “The Godfather of EDM.” Tiësto’s international popularity is undeniable, selling over 36 million albums and garnering over 11 billion streams to date. Of these 11 billion streams, 5.8 are from his album “Drive,” which has already reached RIAA Gold status since its release in April of last year.

His resume doesn’t stop there, though. In 2003, Tiësto was also the first DJ to ever give a solo stadium concert. In 2015, he won the best remixed recording, non-classical Grammy for his “Birthday Treatment Remix” of “All of Me,” John Legend’s classic 2010s ballad.

“Each year, we look to elevate the in-stadium experience for our fans, and with our first Super Bowl in Las Vegas, it seems only fitting to embrace the legacy of iconic DJs in this city by having Tiësto bring his signature style to our biggest event.”

Tim Tubito, director of the NFL’s event presentation and content

Although this is the first time that a DJ will perform for the historic football match’s entirety, this will be the fifth time that a DJ has performed a pregame set while the players warm up. In the past, this opportunity to grace the turf has been given to DJs Zedd, D-Nice, DJ Khaled and DJ Snake.

“As one of the most influential DJ/producers who helped us define the culture of Las Vegas and electronic music around the world, Tiësto is the perfect artist to help us create an unforgettable gameday experience for our fans, players and viewers everywhere,” said Tim Tubito, director of the NFL’s event presentation and content.

Among the musical talent joining Tiësto in Nevada is Usher, who will be headlining the halftime show. Additionally, pre-game performers Reba McEntire (“The Star-Spangled Banner”), Andra Day (“Lift Every Voice and Sing”) and Post Malone (“America the Beautiful”) will all be delivering patriotic salutes through song.

If you won’t be in Nevada to watch Tiësto make history this weekend, be sure to stream his latest single “Waterslides” and tune in on CBS or Paramount+ to catch the game live on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. MST!
