THE FARSIDE UNVEILS LATEST ALT-POP HIT WITH BOPPY ROLLER COASTER RIDE THROUGH A WANING RELATIONSHIP, “EGO TRIP”

The Farside may have only existed since 2020, but friends Adam Fox and Aaron Griffin have been making music in their West Virginia hometown since high school and college. Together, they’ve rebranded as a more pop-influenced duo, while keeping some of their classic rock and emo roots — evidenced especially in their latest release, “Ego Trip.” Part pop banger and part alt-rock bop, “Ego Trip” epitomizes the best aspects of both genres — defined guitar work, fun percussion and catchy vocals singing incredibly relatable lyrics. It’s like if MIKA met fun. and both artists elevated the other to a whole new level of musicality. In all, the track is super energetic and upbeat from start to finish, despite its somewhat dour subject matter of a relationship on the verge of collapse. But none of that stops The Farside from stating that this song, and all their newest music, is exactly what they intend it to be for any listener:

“Fun. Fast. Frenetic. Fuzzy guitars and a wall of synths take you on an ‘Ego Trip’ highlighting a relationship that’s about to crash and burn during a night on the town.”
