Dusting off a classic, Grammy-nominated house duo SIDEPIECE came hard with “Temptation”.
This heater paid tribute to a 1967 Temptations song “(I Know) I’m Losing You”. Building on that connection, accomplished solo producers Party Favor and Nitti Gritti, the artists comprising SIDEPIECE, brought in a cast member from the Broadway musical, Ain’t Too Proud to Beg: The Life and Times of The Temptations, to handle vocals.
Far from their first foray into soul music, having drawn from the Motown well for “Ain’t No Mountain Enough” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, this latest release was their second collaboration with Diplo’s imprint Higher Ground. The first one, “On My Mind”, bore critical acclaim with said nomination, plus public admiration in the neighborhood of one hundred twenty million streams and TikTok virality.
In conjunction with Parlophone’s FFRR Records, the electronic anthem has been shared with the world at an ideal time.
There’s enough runway to build support amongst the night club community, such that when insomniacs around the globe fly onto dance floors, this one will be a no-brainer to get the party started. Their passion translated into the music, which won’t help but make partygoers get turnt up, once their respective countries greenlight those clubs.
As there’s been so much pent-up frustration during lockdowns, the atmosphere when listeners are capable of releasing adrenaline at their favorite house club is going to be—BONKERS. And if fans of the genre are lucky enough to have SIDEPIECE in the DJ booth, they can rest assured the pair will blast “Temptation”. A rhythmically R&B base reworked with jacked-up house beats might just be the synergistic song for ushering in societal normalcy.
