New Zealand alt-rock act Tablefox has just released their 5th single from their forthcoming album, IV. Since its debut in 2013, Tablefox has gone from 3 members to 5 members. The broadened sonic palette is reflected in weaving dual guitar lines and vocal harmonies.
“Tired Soul” follows a massive 2020 where the band spent over half of the year in the Top 20 of the NZ Rock Chart. Produced by Scott Seabright at Parachute Studios and mastered by Ryan Smith (Greta Van Fleet, AC/DC), this latest single is a no-nonsense, 3-minute summer rock anthem filled with hooks and groove.
It features an upbeat rock backdrop, fully equipped with guitar and drum melodies. Clinton Bell delivers passionate and grateful lyrics in a dulcet tone. Driven by quick-paced guitar strums and vibrant drum beats, the song carries a message of acknowledgment and appreciation – one dedicated to the tired soul of a woman in his life. He says the song “is an ode to the strong women in my life. They are willing to motivate, celebrate, or commiserate – often to the detriment of their own well-being. This song goes out to those special mothers, partners, wives, and sisters who put up with our s*** and still support us no matter what.”
The swinging vocals and energetic instrumental create a song that makes you want to kick your feet up while you dance. It’s an invigorating song that can begin to awaken even the most tired of souls. And while you’re jamming out, maybe think about a woman in your life that you’d like to say thank you to!
