Swimm shared a music video for its most recent single, “Used To Saying Yes.” This release comes ahead of the band’s sophomore album Best Comedown Ever, which is to come on August 10.
Now, the video isn’t necessarily fancy, or visually pleasing. There is, however lots to observe. Sketched by the artists themselves, there is a homemade quality that shows in the VCR aesthetic and sudden zoom-ins. What is captured in each shot is quite eccentric, as an interesting situation unfolds.
The ‘Used to Saying Yes’ music video is an absurdist commentary on social obligation...The video is staged as a faux art installation that couples a revenge-laden, d*ck-punching heroine and ecstatic sub (Taylor Snook and Max Baumgarten, respectively) with two phone-addicted socialites (Adam Winn and comedian Lili Currie.) With meta reveals and surprise cameos in tow, the farcical evocation offers satisfying retribution within its layers of entertainment.

Saying yes is an expression with a multitude of contexts, but in this case, it’s about pretending to like something, or maybe someone. But the lyrics express how questionable that sometimes is. Swimm is now ready to turn down, be honest and tell their side of the story.
Am I cursed or am I blessed
Is it fear of what I’m missing
That answers every text
I’m aware now, I’m just used to saying yes
– “Used To Saying Yes”
In addition to recent schedules, the band is also set to perform at Love You Down, a music and arts festival in Los Angeles on August 5. Curated by Swimm, the event was created with the hopes of celebrating the local community and interacting with artists from different genres. For tickets, regularly check the official website.
