You may have heard the word on the street that the remixes of “Sorry” by a group of icons are taking the music scene by storm. The 5-track EP, Sorry (Remixes), was released on August 16 under Insomniac Records. Bask in the techno and house vibes that each rendition brings, along with showcasing each individual artists’ unique flair. There’s an undeniable level of talent represented in the EP’s featured names, BLOND:ISH, Madonna, Eran Hersh, and Darmon, along with remixers Miss Monique, Franky Rizardo, TIBASKO, and Eran Hersh and Darmon again.
First on the tracklist is “Sorry (with Madonna) – Franky Rizardo Remix.” The DJ brings a melodic house sound to the song, adding an upbeat piano layer that makes it feel more organic and helps carry the good vibes galore. This is complemented by heavy techno influences, with a fast-paced and dominant central rhythm, along with many synthetic sounds. It’s catchy and captivating, demanding listeners’ attention on the dance floor to the tune of the low-tone, distorted vocals. Though he comes from Holland, Rizardo’s name is a favorite among EDM fans around the world for his house hits, such as 2023’s singles “Love Me Right” or “Do What You Wanna Do (Live It Cool).”
Next is Miss Monique’s remix, which immediately brings a deeper sound and infuses a darker edge to the track that cannot be beaten. It has a more mystic vibe, highlighting the Ukrainian DJ’s signature progressive house sound. Fans came to love Miss Monique for her work on YouTube and stayed for hit after hit like “Concorde” and “All I Got” – all incorporating elements of techno and melodic house into that dreamy progressive house style. A Miss Monique remix is a sure-fire success.
TIBASKO, a rising electronic duo, took a more electronica take on “Sorry” for its remix. The single takes a higher pitch sound than the prior tracks, with a highly melodic electronic sound. It’s reminiscent of a video game. The song flows effortlessly into breaks, complementing the techno and trance techniques TIBASKO uses. “Sorry (with Madonna) – TIBASKO Remix” is just as energetic and danceable as TIBSAKO’s most popular tracks, “Hawt” and “The One.”
For Eran Hersh and Darmon’s remix, the two joined forces to bring an intense, fiery version of “Sorry” to the EP. The passion is palpable in this lively remix. Eran Hersh’s reputation for atmospheric tracks of the highest caliber and Afro remixes melds perfectly with Darmon’s approach. Darmon’s sound features deep afro elements, which he said relate to his middle eastern heritage. In fact, the two have prior collaborations, such as “Eso.”
Last but not least is “Sorry (with Madonna),” with artist credits to BLOND:ISH, Madonna, Eran Hersh, and Darmon. This version is a classic, a solid standalone, but certainly amplified with each reimagination. The repetition of phrases like “Please don’t say you’re sorry” mesmerizes, creating a seemingly endless loop of lyrics that amps up the sense of timelessness on a night out. “Sorry” will unapologetically command your attention and demand that you have a great time.
These five tracks are all bangers, showing how drastically different artists’ production styles can entirely alter a song — in the best way possible. Sorry, not sorry, but this EP is one of the most killer releases recently. Want more? Explore more from all the involved artists below.
