BLOND:ISH Introduces World’s First Ever Biodegradable, PHA Vinyl Ahead of Tour

Earth Day is set for April 22, but the sustainability movement is alive and well for much of the rest of the month (Earth Month), as well as the year. It’s only fitting that DJ, producer, and eco-warrior BLOND:ISH has just announced some very exciting news with Bye Bye Plastics, her non-profit dedicated to removing single-use plastics for the music industry.

Officially dropping on April 11, BLOND:ISH and vinyl R&D experts at Evolution Music and DeepGrooves (a 100% circular pressing factory and greenest in the activity) are introducing the world’s first ever biodegradable, PHA vinyl, #PlasticFreeParty.

Made using naturally occurring bacteria to build a plastic replication, the 14-track vinyl (released on her label ABRACADABRA) is entirely bio-based, and will naturally break down in any environment, including the ocean. While this vinyl will be compostable, as a part of this drop, you can also own a piece of this monumental moment in music history through a collectible NFT on sound.xyz of BLOND:ISH’s “Life is…”,  the opening track of #PlasticFreeParty.

In addition to this exciting first, BLOND:ISH is also going on a North American tour starting this month and through May. You can find tour stops below and tickets online.
