Soon’s “Stuck” Is The TikTok Summer Song Full Of Nostalgia and Reminiscing

TikTok is known for making songs blow up, whether it’s from an indie artist or a less-well-known song from a big-name star. Many musical artists are figuring out how to get users to include their songs in TikTok posts, which is the case for Soon and their newest single, “Stuck.” The Danish indie band encouraged TikTok users to, “Use this sound to create a nostalgic summer vibe,” and the people responded!

Check out Soon’s TikTok post below:

Soon is made up of August and Andreas, whose sound is a mix of R&B, pop, and electronic beats. Their sound is influenced by the Scandinavian wave of edgy pop music, along with musical inspirations including icons such as Kelela, The Internet, The Weeknd, and Majid Jordan. The band released their debut single, “Without You,” in May of 2019, and have since released eight singles and their debut EP, Red//Blue (2019).

Release Announcement for “Stuck” via Instagram:

“Stuck” perfectly showcases the band’s sound, with its intriguing mix of vocal and musical effects. The track plays around with autotune and a heavy bass along with a slower tempo, which all together create a dreamy pop sound. Its musical composition enhances the lyrics that paint a picture of someone who is trying to move on from a past love as the song starts, “Hold you still/I wish that I could hold you still/Can’t even watch a TV show/ Without you showing up.” They even admit that “I’m a little bit lost without you/I’m stuck in my head.” The combination of the lyrics and musical elements gives “Stuck” a nostalgic vibe that’s ideal for reminiscing about lost love or providing a backdrop for a lazy summer day.
