SEB Continue’s Diversifying Music with the Release of “loving u is harder” Music Video

After taking a hiatus on socials to work on his IT’S OKAY, WE’RE DREAMING II: don’t worry, i’ll be fine EP, SEB returns with new music he’s been creating on TikTok – one of them being an excerpt of “loving u is harder.” The snippet has already gained over 3.8 million views across 3,965 creates on TikTok, before releasing the official music video last month.

The music video begins with some blues guitar and SEB in the dark drinking, then building drums in the mix. There are a series of shots where SEB is singing his lyrics to the camera, either dancing or gesturing to the emotion behind each line – most of the video having abstract and blurry undertones, seemingly to match the feeling of confusion and hurt throughout the song. SEB describes the premise of the song, stating:

“‘loving u is harder’ is about feeling blindsided by who someone actually is, after falling in love with them…The song also touches on the complicated dynamic of feeling dependent on someone despite knowing they aren’t good for you.”

The song itself gives off Kid Cudi vibes, while the lyrics are emotionally in-tune like Frank Ocean, providing the perfect combination of melancholy staccato and soulful R&B.
