MAJESTY: Champion of Glassetonbury 2022

This past year, we ran another edition of Glassetonbury, partnering with Nashville EDM festival Deep Tropics to fill a spot on their Congo Soundsystem stage. Though many amazing artists entered the competition, only one could come out on top. That one was MAJESTY, an exceptional artist based in Austin, Texas, who describes her sound as “international … groovy … high-vibrational.” We couldn’t agree more.

We sat down with MAJESTY onsite at the festival this past August (in our trusty Glasse-van, of course). Her return to Nashville – she is a native who just happened to move to Texas – was one of extreme joy. Not only was she a competition winner, she was also sharing the music she loves with a crowd that loved her in return. It also happened to coincide very nearly with MAJESTY’s two-year anniversary of beginning this journey, from small clubs and house parties in the town of San Marcos, 30 minutes outside of Austin, to a Nashville festival stage. The moment wasn’t lost on the woman of the hour, and she took every chance possible to thank those who got her here and the artists who have inspired her. Our Alex Mars, Anna Stephens, and Andrew Gardner all took turns asking some questions, and she was incredibly gracious with her time and talent. Her story and trajectory is incredible, and she is definitely one to watch!
