SAVANNAH RÉ DROPS NEW SINGLE AND MUSIC VIDEO FOR HER SONG “ABOUT U”
R&B artist and two-time JUNO Award winner Savannah Ré releases her new song “About U,” which is the first taste we get from her eagerly awaited sophomore EP No Weapons. “About U” is Savannah’s way of inviting fans into her realm of a new artistic chapter. This song is the first single off her new EP and gives us a glimpse of an unapologetic heartfelt real style but with Savannah’s magic touch. This song dives into a relationship where Savannah is set on one person and they are all she can think about. This love interest is not easy to be with but Savannah can’t help but want this relationship to succeed. “About U” shows Savannah’s authentic lyrics with her soothing beautifully controlled vocals. Her voice is strong and the message is present.
With lyrics such as “Can’t play this game forever / Let’s get this sh*t together / You know I make you better / But you make it hard.” You can hear the frustration behind this specific line. No more games, we’re adults, we both have things to do but let’s not push this love aside. Dealing with a very stubborn love who can’t grasp the concept of finally settling down and being serious. The love is there so why does he have to go and make things so complicated (throw a little Avril in there.)
Not only do we get a great song, but we also get a dope video with lots of storytelling visuals. Savannah didn’t just write the song she also co-directed the music video.
This video has so many elements and details placed into each scene. Not to mention the figure of a man waiting for her at the end. A captivating video that really draws you in as you try to figure out all the symbolism placed into each scene. Her fans are truly loving this video stating that Savannah can “do no wrong.”
The artistic ability really shines. Between the lyrics, the vocals and thee visuals “About U” is the whole package. Savannah continues to show her commit to elevating and growing with each project she takes on. R&B is in good hands with this star.
