Powerful vocals and punchy beats mixed with dreamy melodies create the whirlwind dreamscape of EMERGER‘s track “Round We Go.” The dream-pop track takes you on an adventure, climaxing at a hard-hitting finale full of fireworks moments. This South African alt-pop duo consists of vocalist/pianist Emma de Geode and producer/multi-instrumentalist Gerry Matthee, who met while studying at the University of Cape Town. Their cinematic landscape takes modern music in a new direction.
“We wrote this one for all the creatives out there. ‘Round We Go’ revolves around the artist’s raison d’être, which is to create. The lyrics play with the idea that an artist’s relationship with his/her art can be similar to the ups and downs of a romantic relationship. The song chronicles the creative process and all of its intricacies. Everything involved with the creation of a work of art has so many layers of complexities, which we feel a lot of people have taken for granted.”
