Multi talented artist Reneé Rapp drops her exciting new single “Mad.”

Critically acclaimed multi-hyphenate Reneé Rapp brings us her latest, highly anticipated single “Mad” from her upcoming sophomore album BITE ME, following the announcement of her BITE ME North American headlining tour, kicking off on September 23.

With experience in music, film, TV, acting and Broadway, Reneé Rapp quickly grew a loyal fanbase while cementing her position as a cross-industry force. Following her breakout role as Regina George in “Mean Girls” on Broadway, Rapp soon made waves across the music landscape as well. In 2022, she released her debut EP Everything to Everyone, landing instant hits with tracks like “Too Well” and “In The Kitchen.”

Following its success, Rapp rode that high into creating her first full-length studio album Snow Angel in 2023. Rapp’s powerful vocals, introspective songwriting and emoional intelligence earned her the largest first-week sales for a female artist’s debut album in the U.S. upon release that year. Snow Angel firmly solidified Rapp’s place in the pop landscape, garnering more than 1.4 billion streams in total.

Moreover, she is no stranger to prestigious festivals either. Rapp has long conquered the stages of Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Boston Calling, and many more around the globe. With award-nominations for the MTV VMAs, as well as performances at coveted TV programs such as Saturday Night Live, Reneé Rapp is here to stay, with new and exciting projects right on the horizon.

Last month, Rapp kicked off her new era earlier this summer with the release of her previous single “Leave Me Alone.” The song broke all her personal records, becoming her highest streaming single upon debut. It comfortably reached 1M global streams on release day alone and now over 23.4M globally.

The new single “Mad” dives into the themes of frustration surrounding relationships with Rapp voicing her annoyance at her partner’s disinterest in emotional depth. The prominent drums and vibrant guitars beautifully paint a cheeky sonic picture of the scene. The message is clear: Rapp is basking in her partner’s loss and everything she’s missing out on because she chose to be mad instead of enjoying the time they could have had together. The song is a true teastament to the importance of valuing your self-worth and to freeing yourself from those who don’t value you for the person you are.

Alongside her newest single “Mad,” Reneé Rapp released a new music video with bite! Starring Rapp herself, as well as co-star Alexandra Shipp (Barbie, Tick Tick Boom, etc.), the music video takes place in a glamourous hotel room, telling the story of a couple’s emotional unravelling. The video starts deceptively calm, but quickly escalates when Rapp is met with the persistent indifference from Shipp. Get ready for a vibrant visual representation of boundless desire and raw frustration, worhy of Rapp’s latest chapter.

In the leadup to her upcoming album BITE ME, Rapp created the BITE.ME website, prompting fans to ‘sign a hundred NDAs’ in exchange for a number of hints about the then unannounced album. In the following weeks, the internet went wild with clues and theories surrounding the mysterious album. “Leave Me Alone” and the Bite Me era are a testament to the beauty of the own personality with all its chaotic and confident facets. They emphasize the importance of reclaiming the own narrative with autenticity and unashamedly being yourself.

Ready for more Reneé Rapp? Don’t miss out on her BITE ME North American headlining tour, starting on September 23 in Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
