Out in Music City we met up with Emma Klein to record the first of our Nashville Quarantine Tapes! From the second she stepped into the studio, her personality beamed radiance from head to toe. Rocking a dimply smile and shiny faux snake-skin sandles, Emma delivered a beautiful performance of two unreleased songs and her latest single “Down,” and answered a few questions for us.
In our interview Emma opens up about her trials and tribulations throughout quarantine, including an OCD diagnosis. Working in therapy has helped her grow in her day-to-day and especially influenced and matured her writing. Each of her songs are moments of vulnerable story-telling. This down-to-earth singer-songwriter is relatable and very easy to listen to; her voice is raw, powerful, and sweet like honey. Think Lennon Stella meets Maggie Rogers for a fresh indie pop sound.
Emma has been on quite a journey since her days growing up in Maryland writing songs about her birds. After becoming a Belmont University commercial voice graduate , she stole the hearts on American Idol with her uplifting story and powerhouse vocals, toured with American radio and television personality Bobby Bones, and scored a publishing deal allowing her to make a home for herself in Music City doing what she loves. Emma has had an exciting jump start to her music career, and this pandemic has not been holding her back. To get a glimpse into what’s she’s been up to during this covid era, please enjoy our Quarantine Tapes session with Emma Klein in Nashville, TN!
