PVRIS Strikes With ‘Good Enemy’

Just in case you need a song recommendation this week, the talented indie pop group PVRIS has dropped their newest single “Good Enemy.” It has the lyrical content of Paramore and the danceable instrumentals of CHVRCHES. Fans of these bands will love this release.

“Good Enemy” is the fourth single off of PVRIS’ anticipated fourth album “Evergreen”, which is set to be released on July 14th. In addition, the band will kick off their tour in the UK later next month. Their individual US tour will occur throughout the summer and they will join Fall Out Boy overseas in the fall.

The 2:10 minute hard-hitting, synth anthem discusses the chaos around you and embracing it. The lead singer Lynn is on fire as they blaze their way into the song on the first verse.

In a cycle
It’s a violent kind of spin
Burned the high road
Now I’m riding off of it

They acknowledge the destructive nature of their circumstances and instead of throwing themselves in defeat, they viciously throw themselves into the wildfire and fights with it. Not becoming phased with what they are presented with. The song’s gritty, energetic synths and vocals carry into the chorus that will have you chanting as you prepare to confront your worst enemy or that challenging hard press at the gym.

I hold the knife by the blade
‘Cause I know how to take the pain
I love a good enemy
And baby, it’s me
Maybe it’s me
I hold the knife by the blade
I’ll be fighting ’till the grave
