Luxtides and if found Collab on Bouncy Breakup Song “Hollow”
“Hollow” is the song you need to get through a breakup — devastatingly honest about a lost relationship, yet also a bouncy pop song to sing along to.
Released April 14 on Lost In Dreams Records, this single from if found and Luxtides perfectly portrays a parting of ways. The drum and bass song marks a strong collaboration between the two powerhouses. The song describes the gaping space that the loss of a relationship leaves, where even the sun seems to dim and ghosts appear in your apartment.

From the pop beat and energetic drive to the emotional piano and wild drumming, “Hollow” hits all the sounds you could ever want. to hear post-breakup. Luxtides and if found infuse profound experiences into this “breakup bop.” It will help listeners heal during a hard time but in an upbeat, danceable tone, unlike the stereotypical sad song.
if found – Carson Maki – now has three releases with Lost In Dreams, adding onto “Against Time” with Nytrix and “Alive” with BECKO. This LA-based producer is a genius at producing melodic bass, pairing pop punk with heavy bass within the genre.
Danni (Luxtides) sent me the topline back in the summer, and I was instantly drawn to the haunting nature of her vocals on this one and wanted to lean into that by keeping the production darker in tone in the verses. I’ve been experimenting with more drum & bass and breakbeat-style drops lately and felt it fit well juxtaposed to the brooding first verse and driving second verse.

Coming from Brooklyn, singer-songwriter Luxtides knows how to do emotive vocals right. With previous successes like vocals on the Afrojack and David Guetta track “Hero” — nominated for a Grammy and earning the top spot on dance radio rankings — Luxtides’ work on “Hollow” is no different.
‘Hollow’ is about the breaking down of a relationship and the emptiness that comes with it, even if neither of you can admit that it’s over. I wrote it last year via Zoom with my super-talented NYC friends Zöe Moss and Miette Hope. I was a fan of if found so I sent it to him on a whim over the summer. When he sent it back, I was completely blown away by his production. We worked back and forth on it for a few months and I couldn’t be more excited with how it’s turned out!
