Petroglyphs Take on the Holy Diver in Electric Performance

Five-piece band based in Sacramento, Petroglyphs joined the beating heart of Midtown on Friday, June 2nd, known as the Holy Diver. Glimmering with famous murals of skeletons at the front of their building, and other paintings surrounding it, this distinctive building could be spotted as a major landmark of the city.

The artists began their performance by calling their audience to action. The mosh pit formed around them, where members were sucked in to the music through their movement. To feel human presence onstage and around, where all come together for one common thing; it’s something we all admit we took advantage of. Now that it’s back, the presence of others in the name of music is that much stronger.

Petroglyphs called out upon this in their excitement for an audience. As they shouted for the group of people lumped together and watching them to move, they all moved and expressed each feeling from every fiber of their being in chaos and sprinting.

The band’s presence filled us all to the core with excitement, creating an outlet for cathartic release in their heavy breakdowns, range of high and low screams, and absolutely electric instrumentals. The performance was simple; but the energy behind it was much more than that.

With a fresh single, and possibly more music to come soon, Petroglyphs seems more than ready for life on tour post-pandemic. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the band, and stream their music– free on their Bandcamp, and available on all streaming platforms.
