Noah Richardson Kicks Off Debut Album with Sarcastically Upbeat “Dead To Me” – Official Music Video Out
Philadelphia alt-pop artist Noah Richardson recently released the official music video for his lead single, “Dead To Me,” from his debut album. The upbeat and catchy soundscape immediately draws listeners into the whimsically sarcastic anthem for anyone who has ever felt like they’ve been done wrong by someone. It has massive f-you energy in the hook that will get you singing along quickly, and you’ll find yourself wanting to replay it as you go about your day. It’s the perfect end-of-summer song that gives you something to hold onto even though things definitely are beginning to slow down.
To add to the energy imbued within the track, the music video gives listeners a fun visual portrayal of the lyrics. Directed by MIIIXEW and Vic Antonio, produced by Tyler Ripley, and camera assisted by Anthony Sciarrino, the music video was filmed in Noah’s family’s funeral home, which provides the perfect setting for the message. The premise? Well, you may have guessed it – a funeral. The video starts with a split screen of Noah and who one may assume is (was) his girlfriend, played by Sophia Schiaroli, both getting ready for “the big day” i.e. the funeral. As the video goes on, one can’t help but think what sort of joke is going on that we, as the viewers, are privy to but the funeral attendees are not – except for perhaps the girlfriend as she can be seen kicking her feet up and munching on popcorn. Or…what do we know that she doesn’t?
For those of you who are based around the Philadelphia area, Noah is hosting his album release party this weekend, 9/17, at Kung Fu Necktie. You can find more information and buy tickets online. For those of you who aren’t, you can still listen to the entirety of his Dead To Me album below!
