MUMU RINGS IN OUR VILLAIN ERA WITH “THE B*TCH IN ME” VIDEO
Pride month isn’t over just yet peeps! To finish it off with a bang we present to you the cool girls’ queer anthem by the queen of mean herself, MuMu. The NYC singer-songwriter celebrates attitude, with her single “The Bitch in Me“. The catchy song is all about clashing personalities and that liberating feeling when deciding to just f it and finally, give in to your inner bitch. Listen up girls, our villain era has begun and MuMu is leading the way.
This absolute bop is totally relatable and has cleverly comedic with its punny lyrics. MuMu’s storytelling is so on point, we feel like her best friend across the table exclaiming, “Yaaas girl, spill that tea!”. IKYK .
The video is a two-minute super-charged celebration of femininity and the duality of the cute little princess vs the sexy villain. The song combines classic R&B tunes with heavy guitars and a pounding bass line.
“When brainstorming this video with Serena, we talked about the way we judge people the hardest when they remind us of parts of ourselves we don’t like. So while the song is a bitchy bitching fest, the video is about realizing my own hypocrisy. The video is a confession, an apology, a love story, and most importantly… an opportunity for me to make-out with myself.”

The sexy, empowering video was shot at Madame X (a burlesque-style lounge in NYC). The rich, luscious decor sets the tone for a dramatic exploration of the Bitch inside. The video is the creation of Serena Dykman, director and MuMu’s childhood friend.
From time to time we should all embrace our inner bitch more and stand up for ourselves. What’s your take on the topic? Do you identify more with the pretty princess or are you brave enough to venture into villain territory and celebrate a little egoism?
