LoFi Artist niciPGTL Releases Vibey New Single “Drippy”
Independent LoFi producer niciPGTL released their single “Drippy” on August 1st of 2019. The track, a melodic blend of instrumentals and electronic elements, makes you feel like you’re cruising through space and time.
The track has an atmospheric introduction. The first five seconds are almost orchestral, drawing you in and making you feel like you’re levitating into the air. As the song progresses into the first fifteen seconds, you start to hear added layers of instrumentals and the energy continues to rise. At 36 seconds, the beat drops and you feel like your fling back down towards the earth at lightspeed. niciPGTL plays around with different elements, like the fun sound of bubbles popping and high pitched tones. There are so many complexities to the production of the track, it’s almost staggering. It’s the perfect song to blast through your headphones and kick back with. At about two minutes, the music fades out and back in, coming back stronger and more complex than before. This is just another example of the creativity behind this track. While the vibe of the song remains consistent throughout its 3:49 duration, the energy shifts in different ways -keeping you on your toes the entire time.
Describing themselves as a “living room producer”, niciPGTL generally gravitates towards LoFi mixes when creating their music. They explain, “I make loop based chill and lofi music mixing electronics and live gear together”. While they seem to favor a particular genre, none of their projects are similar to one another. All of their mixes are unique, thoughtful, and alluring.
